About me!

I’m thrilled to start this new blog! I hope you will enjoy it too!

My name is Linda Saether.

Like a lot of people, I didn’t dare to claim a position in the world as an author early on, but now it feels right. When I first made that decision, I set out with a lot of ideas and enthusiasm, but I found that I wasn’t as good at this as I thought. It was rather horrible, but I couldn’t let go of the dream.

Since I am a bit tenacious when it comes to certain things, I started to take writing classes, read books about writing, joined writers group, went to conferences, took a screenwriting class and even started to write plays. I have to give an extra heartfelt thanks to family and friends for putting up with me through my manuscripts, multiple revisions, and requests for earnest critique because I wrote relentlessly and doled out sections of my work to anyone who could read.

This year I have two books headed for publication. Covid-19 probably increased my productivity, but working with great editors and a publisher who is as relentless as I am has made the process nothing but amazing.

This is my official author’s bio at the moment:

Linda Saether is a Norwegian/American novelist, blogger, screenwriter and playwright, who has also written historical articles based on her own journey to unearth treasures hidden in the Vatican archives for hundreds of years. As the daughter of sea-faring parents, one of her favorite memories was being on board the Christian Radich, a full rigged ship built in Norway, which inspired an episode in her new book The Angel of the Penny Rose.
Although Linda Saether loves many eras of history, it was a particular issue of unfairness towards women in the early Americas that was her initial inspiration for this book.
